A very fine and rare arts and crafts Ault shell shaped posy vase. Designed by Christopher Dresser dating from around 1890 . An earthenware posy vase moulded in the shape of a clam shell and glazed in a vibrant green glaze that blends into a dark brown. The same brown runs over the edge of the shell where the 9 holes for the flowers are across the top edge of the vase. The Ault mark is on the underside of the vase along with the number 416
It measures 16.5 cm tall x 18.5 cm wide x 9cm deep
