A beautifully handmade studio pottery lidded jar. Stoneware with a textured, multi-tonal glaze. The brown and white reactive glaze gives it a unique patina - made from iron-rich or flecked stoneware clay.
Featuring a soda-fired or reactive glaze effect, resulting in variations of white, brown, and grey tones.
The middle section has a distinct chattered or ribbed horizontal texture, created by a tool bounced against the pot while on the wheel. It is a lidded container, which can be used for storage of items like tea, coffee, sugar, or as a decorative piece. Stamped on the bottom with what looks like CC or CG - The pottery mark imight be that of Carol Greenaway (nee Lazenby), a studio potter. Either way it is a very skillfully made jar
