A lovely vintage studio pottery conical plant pot featuring a dark manganese glaze with vertical sgraffito lines.Reminicent of vessels by artists like Lucie Rie, this one is signed / stamped MARAZION -Started in 1950 by George Nash and his wife Heather in the village of Marazion, Cornwall. Continued until their retirement in 1981.
The black glaze and sgraffito pattern on this vase is typical of their work. Marazion stamped on the base. Conical flaring form with a glossy black glaze and incised radiating white lines.
