Dubarry "Golden Morn" Talcum Powder bottle made from lime-green uranium glass (or Vaseline glass) featuring an Art Deco sunburst design.
Frosted yellow-green uranium glass with a gilt metal screw top
Art Deco design popular through the 1930s and 1940s. In original box and still full of Talcum powder

A registration mark can trace the design of this bottle on the base, which gives the date 11th June 1930. Dubarry’s company histories indicate that these opaque glass bottles were imported into England from either France or Belgium.

Dubarry itself had started before World War One when Mr Kilby Pears launched a small range of toiletries named after Madame du Barry who was a noted beauty, courtesan and official mistress of Louis XV. After a few changes of ownership, a new company trading as Dubarry purchased the assets of the company and hired the founder as managing director. The new Dubarry was registered as a company in January 1924.
