This vintage Coach bag is a dream. Smooth tan leather and brass turn style clasp. This little beauty is a genuine Original Coach bag, before it became the global company it is today. The bags stiff leather holds its shape in the classic bucket bag style, it is unlined with an interior patch pocket and has adjustable shoulder strap letting you use the bag in 2 ways. Measures 26 cm wide x 20 cm tall x 9 cm deep. drop from shoulder to bag is 45 cm or 21 cm long by 2 cm wide
Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run workshop in a loft on 34th Street in Manhattan, with six leatherworkers who made wallets and billfolds by hand.
This is one of the earliest examples of Coach I have ever had the joy to encounter, with a little certificate still in its pocket. Im guessing its 1940s / 1950s . A treasure to add to any bag collection or just use daily as your one go to bag- the leather will soften with use and age. In excellent condition except for a small pen mark on the inside near the clasp ( see photograph)
