This beautiful little trinket box is such a fine piece of wood work. Decoratively adorned with a red lacquered flower on the lid and a small handle at the centre of the flower. Made in Holland and dating back to the Art Deco period. It stems from what is called 'De Amsterdamse School'
( The Amsterdam School is a style of architecture that arose from 1910 through about 1930 in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam School style spread beyond architecture to encompass interior design, with the result that items ranging from furniture and carpets to lamps and clocks were produced. New techniques were developed in the applied arts. Industry inspired by the Amsterdamse School style produced wooden decorative items and utensils. Wooden objects, also daily utensils, were adorned with decoration techniques such as; Burning, painting and colorizing (batik). )
