A Webb ship’s decanter in Bristol Blue, hand blown glass with large round glass ground stopper on flat based bottle. These attractive small ships decanters from Webb are much sought after, not least because they are highly decorative pieces. They are hard to date but this is probably from c 1930. Marked with an S which for Webb meant Stourbridge (they had several manufacture locations).
The name Bristol Blue relates to the widely recognised & loved classic blue colour derived from the mineral Cobalt.
On the bottle and stopper there is a tiny etched ' D9 '
The decanter is in excellent condition. There is a little spot of imperfection on the stopper ( see picture) but this is testament to the hand made nature of the item.
A quality piece of glass in a beautiful shape and colour
