Vernon Ward (English artist, 1905 - 1985) was a well-known, versatile, talented and popular mid-20th Century Painter, whose works were often published as prints. of paintings. He was accepted for the Slade School of Art at the age of 14, and exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of British Artists, and elsewhere.
Vernon Ward is best known for his landscapes and still life studies, Flower arrangements, wildlife and birds.
This large kitsch picture has a wonderful green colour pallet and conveys the peace of the river bank in the English country side.
The original frame shows some wear and tear on the top corners, which is hardly noticeable when hung
