Presenting you this unique, handmade vintage Rabari maxi skirt from the Banjar tribes of "Kutch" in the Indian state of Gujarat.
Handmade according to centuries old traditions. Vintage "recycled" textiles are embroidered to create magical textile artworks.
Stitched by hand it tell a story of its own. It is vintage (approximate 40+ years old) but seems to be in almost perfect condition. These are collected from the houses of tribal villages in the Kutch area. The Banjaras are famous for their colorful textile craftsmanship and unique types of embroidery art.
This Rabari tapestry maxi is a globetrotter - treasure sourced form people who still know how to craft things. Ddestined for bohemian, hippy and collectors abodes worldwide.
The black cotton base fabric is thick and the whole garment has weight to it. It ties with a shoe string at the waist.
