This 1950s solid Italian alabaster and brass table lamp is quite a show stopper. stood on little brass claw feet and shaped in the classic urn shape. Paired with the original tasseled lamp shade or if you prefer a contemporary raw linen drum shade- quite different looks but both fabulous . The stone has a green coating that has worn away on the corners of the base ( see photo) . Underneath is the original makers sticker- made in Italy Genuine Alabaster.
Alabaster is actually a common name that applies to a few different types of rocks that are translucent and waxy in appearance, alabaster rocks generally include calcium in their composition and are used to make sculptures and lamps. It is really heavy so postage is not cheap- viewings and collection from the shop is always welcome. Any postage over payment will be refunded
